PDCC #48

Green, silver or grey, deep purple or deep blue —– are the colour choices given and I picked, green, silver and deep purple.

Here’s another look at the same card without the glare and the blur.

I found THE perfect pp for this colour combo, it was purple  and it also had a sheen to it perfectly complimenting the silver senti and flower. Both the pp and the silver die cuts are from my stash. Now these are colours that I would never in a million years think of putting together, so thanks PDCC  for the challenge. I think this card looks ok……

2S4U challenge

2 Sketches 4 You —– I decided to make a clear card for this sketch. Well, its not entirely clear…..the sheet is frosted and has a bit of raised dotted texture to it. It’s not really obvious in the first pic but if you look closely in the second pic its quite clear. The black and white dotted paper is double sided so the inside is finished too. The ribbon is by Luxe Designs and the flower is handmade from magazine papers.

CPS 185, and my interpretation. I flipped it and decided to make a skirt to go along with the sentiment stamp I’d had for a long time. I hope I’m in time for the submission. The papers are Stampin Up and the stamp is from Michaels. Cardstock is from a local stationery store.

PDCC #47

I have two variations of the same card for PDCC #47. I like both of them and couldnt pick. Maybe you can help. Which of these two do you like more…..the one with the red mat or the one with the turquoise mat.

I didnt add a sentiment to either of the cards. I like to keep some sentiment-less cards on hand ………..so when the occassion demands I add the appropriate senti and send the card on its way. This card would be apt for many occassions so it goes in the reserve pile.

Supplies used- locally purchased cardstock, that leaf is a fabric leaf from a local craft store (it has a sheen to it too), flowers are PTI Beautiful Blooms II (dies and stamps——seriously the best buy of this year, really!)

I am too late for submission this time, but I had fun playing. I am starting to like these challenges. I just have to remember that there is a deadline for linking the cards.

FTL #108

FTL #108 has a circle sketch this time. Time to break out the bug again.

Papers are Stampin Up, flower stamp and dies are PTI’s Beautiful Blooms II. I am telling ya, I’m officially addicted to this set. Just cant stop using it. Cant Stop!!!

This is my first time playing this challenge. There is an added ‘piggyback challenge’—– we have to use monochromatic colours on our card. Here’s my take…..

The sentiment stamp is MSE  and the flowers are PTI Beautiful Blooms II (both the stamps and the dies)- they have been stamped in Versamark to give the tone on tone effect. The paper is Papermania.

Another mini album made recently. This one is a family album, hence the tittle… We N Ours. Patterned paper (is Basic Grey and Colorbok) and the small strips of paper with words on them were all from a paper stack bought eons ago. One of the reasons that i have papers from ages ago is that I am a self-confessed hoarder. I am changing my ways now because if I dont use up my old paper I cant make space for the new ones. Right?

BTW, that pink flower in the middle is really not that bright. Its actually much lighter in colour but for some reason it shows up like hot pink.

Here are the other pages in this album.

This album has only eight pages. Also I really like decorating the very last page or the back cover too. It just  finishes off the album beautifully. Leaving it bare seems incomplete to me.

Just for you

Old, old paper from a long, long time ago. Hero Arts stamp and a old flower die cut. Equals to a simple card.

‘Adorable’

I kept this one very simple with minimal embellies. This album was made before i started making handmade embellies. Each page has a strip of pp running along the bottom with or without a phrase on it. I decided to mount the pics without mat and at a slant. I’ve used lots of rub ons here. The journaling is very  spontaneous, so there will be mistakes…..but I feel that adds interest to the album. It’s by no means perfect and I dont aspire to keep it that way. Its important for me to tell the story of my kids in my handwriting so that they can preserve it for the future. As it is nowadays we hardly ever  write with a pen and paper anymore. I miss that. Each album I make is sorta like a letter to my kids. The journaling is very personal, so I may not show all the pages of the albums.

That’s it folks.
