My daughter loves Cadbury’s Silk.
Presenting evidence of this love……..
And YES! she did get her own bar of Silk, which she did not have to share with her brother.
A big WELCOME to a good friend of mine, SHOBANA, to the blogosphere. She is one ‘crafty’ lady (and I mean that in a very good way)…….coz she dabbles in not only paper crafting, but also crochet-ing and baking. She has been generous enough to share her crocheted flowers and baked goodies and of course stamps/papers/inks and such with me. She and I have been co-ordering (ok…that’s not really a word but it is one that best explains the situation) our PTI supplies. We try not to order the same sets of stamps so that between the two of us we can share a whole bunch of PTI goodness.
So……my dear blog friends, please do stop by her blog and drop in a line or two to welcome her. Dont be shy!
Thank you…….I know I can count on you guys!
One more for you to see…..except its unfinished. Lots of embellishing to do. Plus the pics were taken a long time ago (when I still used the old plastic binding method). Though the skeleton of the album is ready…..theres a lot of ‘beautification’ to be done.
Brown cs and patterned paper was purchased at my local speciality stationery store.
Nothing much to say here. The stamps are MSE (assorted sets) and the flower is from my local craft store.
Now the two stores are different.
One is a very famous craft store where you get anything under the sun when it comes to craft projects.
The other is more of an artists speciality store, you wont find craft stuff here. Most architecture students frequent this store for supplies for their project work.
……with another mini album. I enjoy making them. So much smaller than a full fledged scrapbook album and so much bigger than a card. Just the right size. Kinda like baby bear in the Goldilocks story.
Here it is…….Remember the one that I made with similar papers (Laura Denison inspired album, that I made for my son’s 13th birthday)……..this one uses the same line of papers from Luxe Designs.
Very apt for a teenager, dont you think.
This little mini uses one 12 by 12 sheet for the inside pages. I’ve used only one other pp for the back and front cover. Cardstock for the inserts and cover are from my stash. This album is inspired by Laura Denison. I am sure I’ve mentioned a couple of times that I am a fan of her work. She makes really wonderful mini albums.
The above pic shows the insert for the pages. I used my two circle punches and Rusty Pickle’s Journaling lines stamp for the tabs.
This one is a trial piece. I didnt make it with anybody in mind. But now my daughter wants it. She is turning out to be quite the hoarder of pretty paper, I must say. I looked inside her desk drawer the other day (I was cleaning, I dont normally snoop around her desk) and I found scraps of pp that I was sure I had thrown in the trash. She must have ‘salvaged’ them.
Maybe I should give her this one too.
EDIT: This is my second post for today. Please scroll down for another PTI colour challenge card.
Well…..you can download this Papertrey colour palette…..but you have to go here for that.
I wanted to try this colour combo that Betsy obviously rocked. The Larger Than Life dies she has used in her card is fast becoming my new favourite. That’s right…..I am the proud owner of both the ‘Life’ stamp sets and the dies. And yes! I do consider myself fortunate enough!!!
Here’s my version…………………Once again, the colours are not exact. I chose the closest cs that I could match. The scarlett jewel was the hardest to match. In the end I gave up and just picked up a darker pink.
IRL the pink words on the gold cs show up a lot better. Its 12 24 am and the lighting is awful. This will have to do for now until I can take a better pic when the sun comes by.
Thanks so much for stopping by.
Day 5 of PTI’s 4th Anniversary celebrations. Go check it out. Awesome inspiration and wonderful prizes!!!
Day 5’s challenge is to create a card using any of the ten Papertrey colour schemes posted on Nichole Heady’s blog.
I chose the following colour combo. I loved the way Heather Nichols has combined the different colours.
Now…I dont have the exact blue and kraft colour cardstock, but i have used the closest colours that match. I did have the exact green and dark brown cs. Here is my card……..a small request though…..
Dont compare it to Heather’s card.
Remember…..be nice….ok. I know its not very good, but I really wanted to use these colours. If I am in the mood I may make another card in a different colour combo.
Its 11 pm and I am sleepy.
But I shall try.
Only because I love PTI.
How’ve you been?
Here are some pics of a mini I made recently. It was for a girl and I did not use one scrap of pink or purple in it. What a relief that was. It’s not that I hate that colour or anything. Its just that my daughter’s obsession with those two colours makes me steer clear of it in my crafty life.
So…here are the pics…..
Have a great day everyone.
And many thanks for stopping by.
More thanks for leaving some love in the comments section.
At the risk of repeating myself, THANKS MUCH!
PTI’s 4th Anniversary celebrations are on in full swing. Pop in over there for the latest. You wont be sorry.
I couldnt participate in the Day 2 challenge as I dont have a printer at home to download the tags (you were supposed to use those for the challenge project). But I am here with the Day 3 challenge. Here’s my version of the Go-to sentiment card………………………..
Now, I have some PTI stamps but not a lot. Usually I buy just one or two sentiment stamps and I re-use them a lot. I prefer a variety of image stamps instead. Todays challenge called for a ‘sentiment collage’ to be used. Since i dont have many of the same sentiment stamps, I improvised.
I used 8 of the phrase stamps from Big and Bold Wishes and made my own patterned paper out of it. All of those phrases relate to the main sentiment ‘Thank You’.
I then proceeded to cut a swatch from the centre of this paper for the centre panel of my card. Here is the finished product. Very simple and very basic. No fuss, no muss…..again.
Happy Anniversary PTI.

EDIT: As all of you know by now I am devoted to PTI and I absolutely love their products. Its PTI’s 4th Anniversary and as part of the celebration I am submitting this card as my favourite for 2010. Its a simple no-fuss-no-muss card and I love it. The stamps used here are my very first purchases from PTI.
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY PTI.
PTI stamps rock. They are the best there is when it comes to clear stamps. Such crisp imprint. Beautiful. Hmmmmm…..what stamp sets do we have here……there’s Polka Dot Basics, there’s Butterfly Dreams, and then there is Big and Bold Wishes. A very monochromatic look. I love how this turned out.
